After searching for a few months for some rustic looking tables for our wedding clients, and finding nothing but mediocre furniture that usually had to be driven up from the South (adding a hefty whack onto the final quote), we decided to have our own made. We wanted chunky, quality tables that didn’t need to be covered with linen or take lots of decorating because they were beautiful hand-crafted pieces in their own right.
We used up-cycled scaffolding boards that are sturdy and textured. We love that you can see the knots and former life of the wood, it all adds to the character. The tables can be hired with two long benches either side or if you prefer a selection of mixed up-cycled chairs. We recommend you seat 8 at each table for a spacious dining experience or ten if you don’t mind things being a little cosier.
The biggest bonus about hiring trestle tables instead of traditional wedding furniture is that you will save an absolute FORTUNE on linen costs, that’s even before you start to consider table runners, chair covers, chair sashes and the usual list of extras that traditional set-ups require.
