Last August, it was our greatest pleasure to help Dennis and Rebekah (now Mr and Mrs Lloyd!) to plan their awesome tipi wedding at Cherry Orchard Lake in Cheshire – what an absolutely gorgeous day it was!

Now we have to admit, Dennis and Becki have been friends of ours for many years, so this felt more like a labor of love than real work to us. It was also one of the few  events where we got to let our hair down (just a little bit) and actually join in on the fun once the hard work had been done.

Dennis and Becki are strict vegans, so one of the big things on their wedding agenda was finding a company who could provide mouth-watering dishes, fully meat and dairy-free, that wouldn’t leave the carnivores grumbling. The Cheshire Dining Experience did just that with cute picnic hampers, pickles, vegan cheese from I Like It A Lotte and dips and sharing plates that filled everyone up without them feeling uncomfortably stuffed. Lilly and Dilly also provided some next-level vegan cupcakes which were so tasty, people were finishing off for breakfast the following morning!

Alternative Weddings MCR dressed the tipi, wedding arch and tables with bespoke flowers, as well as designing the bridal bouquet. After taking Dennis and Becki directly to the wholesalers they chose beautifully muted roses and foliage in dusky lilac, white and pale pink, complimenting Bride Becki’s beautiful snow-white owl hair and jewel-grey bridesmaid dresses. The final look was elegant, subtly magical and summer-fresh and couldn’t have been more ideal for the picture perfect spot they had chosen.

Our mutual friend Marie Harris conducted the ceremony, a personalised and laid-back affair which saw Dennis and Becki write their own vows and bind their hands together in front of a gorgeous rippling lake. Becki walked down the aisle to Hagrid’s theme from Harry Potter and they triumphantly strode into their new life as husband and wife with the Stars Wars tune blasting out as their soundtrack.

Space hoppers, lemon-jousting, and kamikaze sack-racing followed next and Floorfilla’s DJ’s kept everyone dancing into the wee hours. A big thanks has to be said to Ginger Beard Wedding photography for capturing literally every moment of the big day, and newcomers to the wedding block Harry Fisher Films made this gorgeous little video of the big day.

Dennis and Becki, your wedding was as joyous, rowdy and raucous as you are and couldn’t have been more brimming over with love. Thank you so much for letting us be part of your big day, it was a pleasure from start to end!
